October 3, 2008

The video call is a mobile channel that allows the products and services sale on mobility, simple, intuitive, without having to learn how to use Internet, they just need to know how to dial a number.

The 3G videoapplications, although they are web-based, are mobile applications using the full multimedia power to interact with the user. The application offers different options to the user that uses the number keys of the mobile keypad to move through menus and choose what they want.

Because 3G videoapplications are webs can use the same systems and procedures used in the ONLINE Internet sale, making much more easy to develop these applications. For companies that already offer their services or products over Internet these does not mean more than an adaptation to the new environment, reusing all systems and business rules already developed.

Thus, any company offering products or services online, simply by making an adjustment to the new channel, will be able to sale through the mobile market and reach a potential customers universe much higher than the one offered by Internet today.

The 3G videoapplications are web3G, webs with a QCIF size(176×144) that allow the user to interact with the numeric keys on the keyboard, sites that may use similar systems already made for sale over the Internet.

Video Call, what does it offer?

September 24, 2008

The videocall is one of the new features of the UMTS network (3G), this functionality enables video from 3G mobile phone.

The telephone operators thought that this functionality focused on video conference, two users with video, not only by voice, in a phone call, was going to revolutionize the market and drive the migration of the old mobile network (GSM) to the new (UMTS).

However, this has not happened in any country in the world, the videoconference will not be the service that added value to the new mobile telephone network. Users do not see the usefulness of this functionality, the ones that uses the video conference rarely repeat and the new users are not willing to try.

In the failure of the video conference have also collaborated telephone service advertising campaigns, that instead of showing specific utility instances, showed the other side of the service, how our wife or husband would be able to discover where are we, of course not where we said, or how our boss would call us and realize that we are not ill in bed, we are in a shopping mall, or even worse, when we are telling the truth it doesn’t look like that on the video call … A big disaster.

Now the technology has evolved and can offer more services, can offer video applications. The videoapplications allow the users to access content and services via the mobile phone just making a video call, it’s a new mobile channel.

There are already on the market different video call service that allow users to experience the simplicity and usefulness of this new channel.

3G video call, the new mobile channel

September 4, 2008

The 3G video call is already the new mobile channel.

The video call offers major advantages over the other mobile channels.

The video call is a very easy way to offer contents to the mobile users, even if the don´t have internet culture, they will be able to access and enjoy the services and contents available in data just making a simple video call.

Thus, the video call is the channel to transmit the video applications that will enable users to interact with web services and contents with no need of previous  knowledge, just dialing a number and following the instructions on the screen.

The video call enables Internet World companies to offer their services and contents to a much larger universe of potential clients, we should not forget that the internet mobile users are a subset of the ineternet users, and they are far to represent the  potential customers majority.

As an example of content  application we have YOUTUBE, many people hear about YOUTUBE but they can not access to this content on the web, either because they don´t have internet connection, either because  they don´t have  “internet culture”.

With the mobile phone and just making a call (video call) to +34 902 051 548 any mobile phone user can enjoy the video everybody talk about.

To see how video calls can enable services to people with no “internet culture”, services like buying bus tickets, cinema tickets, betting, ONLINE banking, etc .. Here is La Caixa example ….

If you are La Caixa customer you can access the ONLINE banking services just making a video call. You will be able to see your account movements, your balance, you could make a money transfer, etc ..

What is a video call?

September 1, 2008

The video call is one of the new functionality that the UMTS mobile network offer to the users.

This is not a data-based service, this functionality enables the transmission of video and audio in the same channel.

The new mobile network UTMS is being deployed throughout Europe and will substitute the old GSM network that has been used until now. In Europe already more than 35% of the mobile phones are 3G and this number increases every day.

The video call is a functionality that comes with the mobile phone and the operator contract, like the voice calls. The user don’t have to activate, configure or preinstall it, the user just dials a number and choose the video call instead of voice call option

To make a video call you just have to do something you already know, DIAL A NUMBER, the phone gives us the option to make a voice call or a video call

To use the video call is worthy any 3G mobile phone. The videoapplications are universal and will work the same way independently of the 3G mobile we are using. This is a solution for one of the biggest problems the mobile industry have to offer content on a mobile phone, until know they had to create different contents for diferents mobile phones.

The video call uses a standard video format 3GP

what is a 3G web?

Video-applications are accessed and transmitted via a video-call. They allow users to interact with net-based content by cell-phone.3G Web is a QCIF-sized application (176 x 144) transmitted via video-call.

All 3G-Web applications must conform to QCIF width conditions and be applicable to numerical mobile-telephone dial pads.3G Webs have revolutionized the world of video-applications by allowing servers to store whatever content they wish to offer – to users anywhere in the world.

Moreover, all the experience and existing tools pertaining to Web-application development are directly applicable to generating new video-applications.Thus, any Web-content developer can now create Web-applications — 3G Web content – for the enjoyment of any and all with a 3G terminal.
